    Legitimate Men’s drug rehab facilities

    By | October 9, 2008

When you’re looking for drug and alcohol treatment you need to act fast - wasting any time could be disasterous. At the same time, rehab is a serious financial commitment and your life may be depending on the quality of treatment it can provide.

If you choose Newport Coast Recovery for chemical dependency treatment, you can be sure you’re getting the most effective treatment available. Wherever you decide to go though, make sure you check a few quick things before making a payment.

    1. Is the drug and alcohol rehab facility licensed by the state to give rehab care? In California, the ADP is in charge of licensing chemical dependency treatment facilities, make sure the rehab you’re considering is licensed - you should be able to call a facility and ask about this, they should have a license number. If they don’t have a license then they are either operating outside of the law, or they aren’t actually a rehab facility at all! In some cases, people can misinterpret “sober living” as rehab, but it’s not - a sober living facility will not provide the therapy and curriculum that’s necessary for proper recovery.

    2. Does the facility have dual diagnosis capabilities? It’s a fact that individuals with addictions are more likely to suffer from other psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, etc. Often times these other conditions are undiagnosed. Unless these co-occurring (aka dual diagnosis) disorders are addressed, it’s hard to recover without eventually relapsing. A dual diagnosis facility is equipped to assess and address these disorders to increase the liklihood of long term sobriety and health. Newport Coast Recovery is a dual diagnosis facility.

    3. Where is the facility located? Location is an important factor in recovering from a drug or alcohol addiction. If you can find a treatment facility that’s near a recreational area like beaches, parks, etc. where excercise and outdoor activities can be held it’s more likely that you’ll be able to relax and have a good time there as well. Newport Coast Recovery is located just steps from the beach in Newport Beach, CA. Clients can go fishing, swim, surf, play frisbe and beach vollyeball, etc. We know that recreational activities and exercise are integral to recovery.
